First, i hear a slight rattle inside the camera. It sounds kinda like there is a ball bearing in it or something. Is that the auto rotate detector? Is that normal? I shook it a little and I think I might have made it worse. Second, when I checked the properties of a fast frame rate movie i shot, it said 59 frames per second. Is that normal too? Thanks.

It does have an auto rotate detector, when you view a shot taken vertically it will display that way. I haven't noticed the rattle sound, I'll check when I get home tonight (I have a SD300 but it should be the same).

I'll check that one too.

Anyone else on the frame rate thing? I have the same kind of deal on the 15 second long shutter speed - it shows 14.99 seconds in the properties.

I don't hear the rattle with mine. I haven't loaded any movies up to the computer yet, so I can't tell you about the frame rate.

For Matt5L, it was worth it to me, I can't say if it will be worth it to you. I wanted slightly larger images for cropping purposes and over the life of the camera I didn't think $100 (actually more like $70) was too big a price to pay.
