An experiment in focal points C&C pls

i tried something a little differet recently. i used a small aperture and focussed away from the face to get a softish dreamy look for B&W. the effect only worked where there is no eye contact. what do you think ?

Hahahahahahahahaha. Those people that paid lots of money for special "soft focus" lenses are going to be really mad at you. Gee, just focus somewhere else. Who'd a thunk it?

lol actually all i did was frame normally with the centre AF point and then change my focus point using the dpad. what i;'m not sure about is if the sharp bit of the photo which is around their ear is distracting.

I like them. Kinda trippy because the the softness makes my eyes want to see motion blurr but there is none.

I think it works beautifully. It is actually a different kind of softness than soft focus and I prefer it to SF. What a technique! Great going there Rooz.
