My wife and I spend a weekend in Las Vegas (mostly hiding from the kids)... What a great place to just 'be away'. Here a few of my favourites.

Nice reflections. I have relatives coming in town tonight, so I'll probaby either hit the strip or Fremont tonight myself.

Very nice! Were your night pics hand held? What lens were you using?

Thanks!
All were shot handheld with my Sigma 18-50EX... My tripod didn't fit into my suitcase, and the gorrillapod I did bring is useless. I'll have to pick up a smaller travel tripod for next time I fly.
TNB, it must be interesting to live there... I could not believe the lack of humidity. You can't even sweat its so dry.

One thing nice about living here is that there are a lot of things and places to photograph. It's sort of like having "scale" minatures of various places around the world in one place--a form of "art" in itself. Also, I did end up on Fremont last night--busy place because of the football game. Tonight... the strip? I don't really want to go tomorrow because of the MTV awards (then again it may be worse tonight and there are those paparazzi shots).

Spent last year trekking around India, even through the Thar desert and just got back from almost 3 weeks hiking and flying from one end of China to the other and it didn't let me down once! :D Highly recommended! :)
P.S. It also comes in a ball head version...but I use the Pan/Tilt head...
Numerous places around here don't allow tripods and some won't even allow "professional-type" dSLR photography equipment to be used on the properties.
Myself, I prefer to use a fast lens without a tripod since it is usually not as noticeable though I may still get stopped because of the camera itself.

TNB, great night shot with your D200. Your shot is so clean that makes me wonder WHERE is the NOISE that some people blame Nikon for? :p
Dusty, nice shots, #1 and #2 my favorites though I wish #2 would be a bit wider angle.:)

Thanks for the tripod recommendation JTL. I'll have a look at one of those.
Gintaras.... I'm with you on #2 needing to be wider. I was disappointed when I got home and found that the only shot of that series I liked was this one where I had cut off the top of the tower! I was trying to keep the bridge in the shot, and I couldn't back up any further. I should have tried going across the street and then zooming in. I was looking at a Sigma 10-20 while I was there, but I didn't buy it. Maybe over the winter.

Well I must admit the shots I have taken around 2500 ISO with the D200 really stink though I captured the shot. ;)

I can't see why you'd need an tripod shooting Britney these days now that you'll be using an ultra-wide:p
