well the ISO 400 one doesn't look very nice...greenish?

other than that it seems to have good clean strong colours and sharpness.

Yeah, those picts look nice.
But sample picts from Canon do not seem to be very impressive.
A lot of noise-reduc trails even at ISO 80? (pixel-peeping :D)

Well, at least now it has RAW and this could be the selling point.
Cant wait for the reviews...

The pictures look remarkably similar to those of the G7-no surprise there.I can't help but feel that had Canon provided a firmware upgrade to the G7 to provide Raw the other "improvements" to the G9 i.e. 3" LCD and 12mp would hardly justify an move from a G7 to a G9.


That is not to decry the G9,which I am sure will be a very fine camera but this dripfeeding of improvements smacks of commercial expediency rather than a genuine move forward.
