View Full Version : What's a good telephoto lens for the z612?

I have the Kodak z612, I know it's not "great" but it meets my needs as an average point-and-shoot user.

The problem is I want more zoom. I've been looking around for telephoto lenses for my camera but I'm getting confused. This is my first foray into optics and so forth, and I don't really know what I need to get.

I want at least a 2x telephoto lens (but the more the better) with auto-focus and decent image quality. What do I need to look for?

Specifically, can I just get any telephoto lens and expect it to work well on my camera as long as I can get the appropriate series of adapters to attach it with?

I'm finding all kinds of information online that I'm not educated enough to decipher. I'm not afraid of doing my homework, but I at least need a starting point! ;) If anyone can give me some very basic pointers I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance for any advice and/or specific recommendations!

Matthew
