Okay, time's up! The Labor Day weekend is over and I happen to know ... it's out there. I held it in my hand on Saturday morning ... looked at the "big picture" ... unimpressed with most of the changes ... although, I liked the big image, who wouldn't? 1.8" vs. 3" ... no-brainer, there. $1300 to get it ... uh ... no.
Time to 'fess up ... "Who bought an EOS 40D?"
If you did ... just for fun, what is the first lens you are mounting on it to "check 'er out?"

Ok, this got zero play, so let's move onto to other issues:
1) What is it that you current DSLR is not giving you that something else just might?
2) Would you pop for a Full-Frame camera ... if the price was right?
3) What is the right price?
4) How many fingers am I holding up?
5) For that matter, how high is "up"?
Sure, it gets rather silly with all the options out there, but when you really and seriously consider it ... which options have the most bang for the buck? Which don't?
Will Canon finally come to their sensors ... uh, senses ... and deliver an APS-C sensor camera with "in-the-body-IS" ?
We can all but wonder ... except 'Coldrain' ... he knows. :D

#1 - There is nothing else (within reason) at this point that would make me give up my XTi for a new SLR.
#2 - No to full-frame. At this point, I like the larger DOF I get with a crop. I can barely get shots in focus now!
#3 - Free, I guess.
#4 - 4. The other one is a thumb.
#5 - Not sure.
Canon will not 'come to their senses". The next generation of kit lenses will have IS built in to them, so that Canon marketing can say that the camera 'comes with IS'. I do think Canon will start putting IS in most of their new lenses (even the cheaper ones). There will be different levels of IS, just like there are different levels of USM right now.
