Hey,
I'm looking for a recommendation for a good digital camera for 150$-170$.
It has to be compact (like fitting in a pocket) and it is for amateur use.. nothing professional. And if possible i'd like it to be able to record short video clips.
I'll be buying it in the US.

Thanks !

The A640 is more camera then you need, and it bigger then you want. I'd look more at the Canon A570 which has IS, is smaller, has nice zoom, and still has all the features you are looking for. All cameras these days take video.

Don't forget you'll also need to budget for a memory card, NiMH rechargeable batteries if your choice takes AAs, and a case.

My brother has the A610 and he is very please with it, but it's to "fat" in my eyes.
Also the A570 is a little to big..

I'm looking for a camera in the size of the fuji f30 or canon ixus.

check out this one (http://images.google.com/images?client=opera&rls=en&q=V603&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi).

it doesn't have manual controls, but its compact and under $200. good luck!
