This is all very new to me

I am currently looking at upgrading my poor tired and very old Sony DSC-P8.

The main purpose of the camera will be taking photo's of my kids (so action), I am currently finding the Sony cant keep up with the speed and the pictures are either blury or I have missed them alltogether.

I am leaning towards a Canon as I have been told they are second to none in relation to the colour quality. Unfortunately an SLR is out of the budget, although I would love one down the track.

But, would love some feedback and some advice as I have no idea.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have been doing some research and have found the Canon Powershot S5 IS that I think looks quite good

Would love some feedback

For action, you want a camera with good ISO performance, so that you can boost the shutter speed to freeze the action when you are in less than ideal conditions.

The Fuji F series cameras do that well. The S5 IS is a good choice, but if you are mainly going to shoot action, unless you are always outdoors in good light, it may not be the best choice.
