Nikon 80

I am having trouble on deciding whether I should purchase the Nikon 80 for a nature trip to Costa Rica. I've been reading all the reviews at:

but I can't make up my mind. what do you say?

Whether you get a Nikon D80, Canon 30D or Canon XTi/400D, that does not matter much... it is the lenses that you need for what you exactly mean with "nature photography" that will make the difference.

So... what do you mean with that? You want to bring far away animals closer? You want to make landscape photos? And what would be your budget?

and more importantly, given your shooting conditions and potential lens decisions...how compact/ light do you want your kit to be. the xti is much smaller, lighter and more compact than either the 30d/ d80 so you may want to consider that aswell.
