I'm having trouble finding a camera that suits all my needs (surprise!)
Almost all my photos will be of my active 1 & 5 year olds, and they will be both indoor and outdoor, so I need something that will take good action shots in good and poor light. I would think that image stabilization would be required, and my poor eyesight would need a 2.5" LCD. Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations ??
TIA
Jemma

Budget
* $300-$500

Size
* Not as important as features and pic quality

Features
How many megapixels will suffice for you?
At least 6

* What optical zoom will you need?
Ultrazoom

* How important is “image quality” to you?
Very important 8-10

Do you care for manual controls?
Probably won't use them much

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for?
Mostly shots of the kids (1 & 5) doing the usual kid things....

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?
Some, but no larger than 8x10

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
Probably as many indoor shots as outdoor shots

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
They're kids... yes, many action shots ;-)

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate?
No, pretty open to suggestions...

Are there particular models you already have in mind?
Trying to decide between the canon S3IS and FujiS6000 but would welcome any suggestions

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)
Would like image stabilization and a decent sized LCD (2.5")

I had the S6000fd and sold it and bought the S3 IS that i really like it's a wonderful camera, the fuji though has better high ISO but the fuji doesn't stand a chance with the S3 IS in outdoor shots as far as IQ. The S3 IS has a rotating LCD (2") that is also a nice feature, the S6000 has a (2.5") LCD but it doesn't rotate.
