What are good places to look for high quality used lenses besides ebay?

Do most retailers offering used lenses make sure that the glass is in good condition? WIth technologies such as IS is it safe to assume that this feature will work when you get the lens and continue to work into the future, or does it wear out quickly?

You could try keh.com or the 'sell' section over at POTN. Ebay can be a good place. Like everywhere else, you have to research who you are buying from and read the small print.

It is safe to assume that the lens should be in working order unless otherwise stated. Generally lenses are fairly tough. A good safeguard to buy from sources that have a liberal exchange policy.
