Hi guyes,

I am planning to buy my first digital camera, but need some advice from some pro's like you guyes.

I got interrested in the Kodak Z710. It has an optical zoom of 10x , and 7.1 mpx. But the Samsung S1050 is also great. That one has 5x optical zoom, but 10.1 mpx.
So the samsung has better quality(?), but less zoom.

I can't really decide what is better one of those two.I don't care about the budget.

Thnx in advance for the Help

More MP doesn't mean better quality, it just means more MP. Don't fall into that trap. Frankly, I'm not convinced that either of these cameras are the best deal for the money.

Fill out the questionnaire at the top of the forum and we may be able to recommend other options.

Budget

around 200 euro's

Size

Size doesn't matter as much. I care more about functionality then design.

Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you?
Eeh, I was told that mexapixels doesn't say a thing.... But 7 mexapixels?

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify)
At least 5x optical zoom. The more the better

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)
8

Do you care for manual controls?
Not really

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for?
Family, landscaping, nature, buildings.

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?
Not really

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
just average

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
No, don't think so

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate?
Not really

Are there particular models you already have in mind?
I think the Samsung S1050 is a good choice but....

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)
Image stabilzation seems very handy, but it isn't a must for me
