My humble 4 mp FZ15 continues to be a dependable, fun camera for the outdoors. The zoom lens is great for natural scenery and wildlife.

Its latest adventure was a four-night backpacking trip in Grand Teton National Park.

I took the camera, the original battery and three aftermarket batteries.

This is one tough camera! It continues to work great after several years of hard use, and thousands of shots.

I was really happy with the results, including several panoramics (shot handheld in manual mode), stitched together with Arcsoft Panorama.

You have a great eye and lots of good shots!
Once again proving the adage: it's not the equipment, it's the user.

Hey, I recognize a lot of those places, both in the Tetons and in NH. You did a Pemi Loop, hardcore. :)

I was in the Tetons last fall after a week in the Winds. To keep the packs light I just took my SD300 and there were many times I wished I had the reach of my S3 IS. Your shots bring out a lot of the feel of the area.

BTW, last year the tram was still running and we started the day gaining 4000' in 15 minutes. It made the trip to Marion Lake much more relaxing. :)

thanks for the kind comments.

David I would enjoy seeing your Winds photos if you are inclined to share them. I have not been there yet... but it is on my list of destinations.

Thanks!

Nice photo's, my kind of country. My wife would love to go on those kind of trips, unfortunately I cannot keep up with her. We tried an all day hike last year in Colorado, halfway back I told her to take the dog and leave me there. She prodded me back to camp though.

God those are some beautiful shots. That looks like an amazing place to hike.

I need to get my ass in gear and get in shape for some longer hikes. ::rolleyes:

Seeing your shots inspired me to write up the trip report for the Tetons backpack, that should be posted soon. My website has dozens of trip reports with photos for the rest of the Whites.

Very nice work, your FZ15 is not a humble camera; it is one of three excellent superzooms Panasonic made. The FZ10, FZ15, and FZ20. It is a shame that Panasonic derailed the FZ30 and FZ50 are just marketing junk.

The camera is only part of the equation between the ears counts heavily.

Nice Teton Travelogue! I think I liked your "Hurricane Pass Pano" as well as any, but you showed a good eye for composition throughout, a very enjoyable trek. Thanks. I used to have an FZ15, got some great photos with it in the Galapagos Islands a couple of years back.
