I've had a look but can't locate any - is there any firmware for the FZ50 that allows you to disable the (rather irritating and inefficient) system whereby a jpeg is saved along with your RAW file? I'd like to disable this, as I could fit an extra few pictures on my expanding arsenal of memory cards. Thanks for any help.

No I do not believe thats possible.....but you can shoot a JPEG without the RAw that will save a lot of space.:)

Thanks for the info - and I don't like to use JPEG files, their editing potential is far too limited...I just want to save me the bother of having to delete all the JPEG previews that are saved with my RAWs, and free up a few extra pictures.

is there any upgrade s/w available for he FZ-50 anywhere?
is panasonic listening????????
i want s/w upgrade for intermediate asa settings like asa 50,80,125,160,250,320 .
some of these are selected by the cam in the scene modes.
also in the scene modes the cam selects modes like "hi gainup", which gives excellent colour satu., can Pana provide s/w upgrade for FZ-50 ????
so that all the operating modes can get all the flexibility!

Apparently Panasonic thinks their camera's are so good that they don't need firmware updates. If they made them any better they would not be able to build them fast enough and it would put all the other camera makers out of business.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
