Ok i did a long research of the reviews in dcresource and stevesdigicam and others.

The options are:
Sony W1: (+good price, ++AA batteries, +conversion lens, --aperture range is limited, +small size, +noice reduction in nights shots)

Canon S60: (-little expensive, +conv. lens, ++fully manual controls, -propietary batteries, +wide angle, -noise levels )

The thing is:... i dont know about how stabile are the canon's conversion lens? i read somewhere that they're not suppost to be so good; and the 2nd thing is the batteries, using AA bateries its way more cheaper and usefull als proprietary batteries and AA can really help you when you run out of power in many situations.

So if anyone can tell me if it really deserves to pay some more money to get the canon s60 would be nice, cause its really hard to decide which one to choose.

pd. i use mainly the camera for landscapes and people.

Thankx

Since you shoot landscapes, I would think that the Canon's wide-angle lens would be more important. It would be noticeably wider than that of the Sony's. I would also much prefer having the full aperture/priority modes that the Canon provides.

If you are worried about conversion lenses, it might make better sense to just buy a camera that has the zoom range you want, without the use of conversion lenses. In other words, something along the lines of an Olympus Wide-Zoom.

As for batteries - yes you could always concoct a potential set of circumstances that might favor one type of battery over another. However, I personally feel that battery selection is secondary to many other features of a digital camera. After all, you can run out of juice with either type of battery, and whose to say if there really will be a place nearby to buy AA's when this finally happens? I wouldn't worry about a proprietary battery. Just get an extra one and charge them both up before you leave the house. One battery should give you several hundred shots, and unless you are a professional photographer, what are the odds that you would actually shoot through two charged batteries in one day?
