Wanting to finally get around to buying some PP software. Cant afford CS3 rigt now, and these 2 programs seem to be my 2 choices for now. If you can shed some light on te 2, please do so.
Looking for the basic stuff, plus need something for Raw(finally try it) and for HDR.
thanks, J

I have both...bought Corel Paint Shop Pro because it was a good deal with a new computer....severely disappointed. Bought Adobe Photo Elements 5 and haven't looked back. It clones the great features of CS3 without the added expense. I have been able to do everything as an amateur photographer that I wanted to do and through a little experimentation, even more than I thought possible. It's by far the greatest little program I own.

They both have free 30-day trials. I got them both and decided to get Paint Shop Pro X. I have been very pleased with it overall.
I have gone from PSE 2 to PSE 3 and now PSE 5. I think it is a great program, and there are more articles on how to use it in various photo mags than any other software editing program. However, if you are going to buy it, I would suggest you wait another month or six weeks. If Adobe does as it has done before they will be out with PSE 6 by then. Good Luck.

If you decide on the Corel, which I use, instead of buying XI, go to the Corel website (http://www.corel.com) and get X2 instead. Then you won't have to pay for the upgrade later. It adds some new features.
