TCON17 does not pefrom well on FZ20. Your need a TCON14B.
Also check out ebay search CRing adapter.

Yes the Tcon 17 does work on the FZ20 but not as well as the 14B......you do give up some power but not much, as the Tcon 17 does not seem to live up to its 1.7 rating on the FZ10 and 20...more like 1.6 from what I could measure.
Of course the 14B seems to be getting hard to find and its heavy.
and just for the record this is not the well thought of 14B......I own this lens and while its not bad it was about a 45 dollar lens......untill someone discovered they could pass it off as the 14B

FZ20 with Phayee Adapter (62mm/72mm mounting threads, 55-62 step ring joining T-CON 1.7 & 3" & 77mm steel hood*1 (screwed into a 77mm (glassless) UV filter, itself press-fit then epoxied to the front of the T-CON.
*1: reduces 98% of glare and flare producing point light sources.
I will often use a Pemraal adapter with the T-CON but only if I have another auxiliary lens on the Phayee.
Problem is, it only has one (1) 55mm thread while the Phayee has 2 (two); 1 62mm and 1 (one) 72mm, which give the Phayee more bang for the buck mounting-wise.
You can use a 62mm Polarizer on the 62mm thread and a 72mm lens hood on the 72mm mounting thread at the same time.
*2 That 77mm steel lens hood also has a 77mm thread on the front.
All possible (workable) lens hood configurations and combinations with the 2-piece Phayee adapter here:

It's heavier than the TCON-17, but much sharper and faster, and also lives up to its "1.7X" label. They were made for the Nikon CP8800, and aren't being manufactured right now, but they are EXCELLENT; you might find one on eBay, and I even know a person who has a spare. (Not I) Here's a Pelican taken with my FZ30/Nikon at full zoom, just taken on Sunday:
