Very cool piece of work. Features I've noticed so far:
1. Instead of showing all photos in a big flat library view, it shows each old "film roll" as an "Event," and if you have 100 photos associated with an event, you see the first one on the library view. If a particular download covers more than one "event," you can also split the event so it will make sense. Further, if you took more than one camera to a particular eventj, resulting in multiple downloaded "events," you can merge them together. If you move your cursor over the event thumbnail, you can actually scan all the photos in the event at the thumbnail size! Very cool.
2. New image editing tools: Shadow/Highlighting and a noise slider. Used to have to go to CS3 for these functions, now they're right there, and they manage to enhance shadows and/or highlights without halos? Very cool.
I had to buy the whole iLife08 suite to get this, but just for the cataloging and editing tools in iPhoto, it's worth the price of the package! Of course, the other apps have been upgraded too, but I've never even USED Garage Band, so I can't relate to improvements there.
