Hello.
I'm using the SD300 for the 1st time.
I took photo and video. I was able to review them on the camera and also replay them on a TV through the AV connect.

However, I placed the SD card in a memory card reader (Viking Intelliflash 6 in 1 reader) and the card could not be read. I put the SD card back into the camera and a message read 'No Image'. Then I tried to access the card through the reader again and was able to see folders. Clicking on the 'DCIM' folder, I go an error message: 'H:\DCIM is not accessible. The file or directory is corrumpted and unreadable'.
(The reader was able to read my compact flash cards.)

Need your help and any advice. The concern is that I think that my pictures are deleted.

Thank you.

Don't give up hope. You may have corrupted files on your SD card, however, I've had clients that have been able to recover files that seemed lost. The program I've heard the most success stories about is Image Rescue. It comes free on Lexar CF cards, but I think you can download it very inexpensively. Do a google search. I would also look at the DP review forums. www.dpreview.com. Do a search for image rescue or lost images and see what you find. I think you could find some very specific advice there.

Best of luck.

Been there, done that. You can download "Digital Image Recovery" by Alexander Grau either as the current commercial version:
www.lc-tech.com/software.htm (now called PhotoRecovery)

or older freeware versions:
home.arcor.de/a.niggemann/dir.zip (version 1.47)

Hmmmm.... free or $39? You decide.

Xymox,

GREAT post. I was using Picasa2 today to download some pictures from my camera. Picasa2 crashed (its a buggy piece of garbage software) and deleted all the pictures on the card.

I was doing a search and found your post. I downloaded this software and it worked perfectly. Incredible! I cant believe its free - and I guess neither did the creator either! :)

Thanks a million.

Thanks Xymox!! That little demo program did the job for me. I was even able to tell which photos were corrupted.
