A630 or SD1000

Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a new camera and after a lot of research i've narrowed down to A630 and SD1000. The SD1000 is luring me because of its size, the ability to carry the camera with me always is just too tempting. But how much of a difference does it make in the image quality. The A630 has a lot of functionalities and manual features like manually controlling the exposure settings. How does the SD1000 fare in comparison ? Is it within an acceptable, I am a little more interested in learning outdoor photography and low-light photography. Which do u think will be a better deal ...?

No question, the A630. I love the SD-series (my SD300 just died, alas) but they are not cameras to learn on or shoot in low light. They have no manual controls, a smaller CCD, and don't have the fold-out LCD of the A630.

If you want to learn about photography you need manual controls. You might look at the A570 as well, it's more current, has IS and better low light performance but a smaller CCD then the A630 so image quality might not be quite as good.
