So, besides the rediculous price associated with them and the incredible range up to 39 megapixels (holy ****!!) are they worth it?

I'm certainly not in the position to afford one but has anyone on here used or even owns one? I also understand they are more than a digital company but from what i can deduce from the current literature they have shifted soley to digital development which, although unfortunate for the artists, is also good because this is where the world is going.

the first apollo missions on the moon were taken with a hasselblad camera :)

I just think they're overly expensive...
Other than being square format+the insane mp I don't know how they're are any better but being so expensive they prob have crazy low level of noise or someting...

We did a price comparison ... and you could get the entire line of Canon lenses, flashes and the EOS 1D MkIII for roughly the same initial cost of fitting out the Hasselblad H3D! And I mean EVERYTHING.

Overpriced? I guess so! For a camera body.

You can get a digital Mamiya ZD for under $10,000 ... with an 80mm lens (effective 50mm on a 35mm film camera) and 22MP digital back, no less. It takes nearly the same image as the Hasselblad. So, yeah ... prices are suspect to be sure, but with a name like Hasselblad, it's time to just up and mortgage the house to get one. Yeah, right!
