View Full Version : Photographing Jewelry - need help
07-31-2007, 06:43 AM
I'm trying to photograph jewelry, but can't seem to get the correct settings to capture the detail. Can someone please point me to what setting I would use? I'm using a QV-R40 Casio.
I just shot over 100 thimbles and used 1/45 at F5.0. They were shot on a piece of white paper and my light source was a single fluorescent portable lamp placed 45 degrees in front of the thimbles. If you are requiring greater depth of field choose a smaller F-stop which will increase your exposure time but thats ok since you are using a tripod. If you are shooting rings and the like then the first settings should be fine. I cant remember now what my ISO setting was. Im guessing at 400. I got good clear crisp shots of every thimble.
