Hello folks

After doing a lot of research for my first camera, finally settled with two options:

Lumix FZ10 Vs Lumix FZ3(with out taking price into consideration...)

I think that FZ10 is heavy,at the same time ,the 4-megapixel is awesome(than the usual 3Mp cameras)
I have heard that Fz10 is a flop? is it really so?
can anyone tell me what may be the cons of FZ10 ?

&

about FZ3 ..!!!
Actually FZ 3 seems to the best choice(interms of weight, zoom, price),but i guess that 3Megapixel will hardly produce good quality pictures(i mean large resolution pictures....).does any of the FZ3 owner's feel like this?

does anyone compared these two cameras(FZ10 vs FZ3)?which one did you choose? Please advice me
Any suggestion or advice is always appreciated.

Thank you

I think that if this were true, Panasonic wouldn't have sold them, and they wouldn't have gone on to continue to produce the line.

It's a bit larger than other very capable cameras.

You're only talking about a 0.8mp difference. If you can't do it with 3.2mp, then I doubt you could do it with 4. 3.2mp will produce 8x10's without problems.

If you need manual focus, then go for the 10. I did not, and have been happy with the 3.

The FZ10 was hardly a flop, it has many devoted fans. It has been discontinued, in favor of the 4 mp FZ15 and the 5 mp FZ20. A few 10's are still available out there though, so it's still a viable choice.

Take a look at the sample photos from the reviews of the various FZ's on this site. Thay should tell you which camera ofers enough resolution for you. FWIW, even the 2 mp FZ1 (predecessor to the FZ3, and the camera I own) can produce a good looking 8 x 10.

If possible I would decide btwn the fz3 and fz20. The 20 being bigger, more fully feautured and higher mp 5

That said. I have the fz3 and have been testing it out trying to decide. One of the bigger concerns I had was the 3mp. After taking some test shots sending them to shutterfly and receiveing back both 4x6 and 8x10 sample I no longer have any concerns. Even the 8x10's came out great imo. If someone showed me I would be hard pressed to say whether they came from a digital or 35. (there were some exceptions with images I cropped but that's to be expected and even so the images were still solid for amatuer use/printing/giving to family friends etc.)

Again this is all just my opinion someone with a keener eye might say the opposite.

Also, love the size since it basically fits in a coat pocket so I can carry it if I want.

good luck and happy holidays
