Problem: Vertical Lines in Photos

hi i've got a Samsung Digimax i6 and the photos are very poor all of a sudden. more so in bright photos with no flash i get a whole load of vertical lines throughout the photo.
i've tried changing around the settings but can't get any improvement.

anybody ever come across this problem and know of any way of fixing it???
any advice would b greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the sensor is shot. Bring it back to where you bought it or contact Samsung. Could you post an image to confirm? I happens both on the LCD and when you get the images to the computer, right?

ive deleted most of the really bad ones, but here's an example

and yes its on both the LCD and computer.
