Copy CRW_***.CRW files from SD card to D:\My Pictures\store\20070722

Take safe backup of CRW files to CD media.

Use "DNG For PowerShot 1.1.4" to convert CRW files to DNG file format.

Delete CRW files if conversion successful.

In "Adobe Bridge" "Open in Camera Raw" adjust RAW settings.

Save files as TIFF (LZW compression & file naming: yyyymmdd+3digit)

Edit in Photoshop as required.

Backup TIFF photos to separate hard disk.

Delete jpg’s and crw’s from SD card.

I'd suggest trying Raw Therapee for conversion from RAW to TIFF. It's able to read the PowerShot files directly, saving you a step (but still reads DNGs.) But far more important, Raw Therapee uses an enhanced demosaicing algorithm that produces very good results.

I'd recommend comparing results from both applications to see which demosaicing process produces a better image for you.
