I am looking for a digital camera that does not have a delay from when push the button to when the photo is taken. Looking for a small camera in the $250 range.
Thanks Jeff

Can't be done. They only cameras with NO shutter lag are dSLRs.

But, you can do a lot to minimize the shutter lag in any P&S camera. The main thing is to pre-focus on the subject by depressing the shutter button halfway before taking the shot. You can also set some of the controls by hand (white balance, ISO) to give the camera fewer things to do when the picture is taken. But nothing will eliminate shutter lag in that price range.

Since you can do this in nearly all cameras, you need to give us more details about what you are looking for in a camera.

The best you can do is K100D for about 410 after rebate online, it's a digital SLR.

You can use point and shoots if you "half press" the shutter to focus once you fully press it down it'll snap the picture very quickly. The only problem is if your subject moves from the focus area you'll take a picture which isn't in focus anymore.
