Images downloading very slow?

I have a fast cable internet connection, yet I wait upwards of 30 seconds for peoples images to download on these forums. Its been going on for a week...checked with my ISP they say all systems are fine, reformatted my computer 2 times, and have done numerous online speed tests from different servers clocking me in at speeds well over 10mb/sec... is anyone else having the same problem or is it just me~what gives?

It not only depends on your connection speed but you have to worry about the connection speed of the server you are downloading from (and how many people it is currently feeding) Also what part is it slow at, finding the server or actually downloading the image?

Do NOT worry too much as the speed of my internet is only 4.8Kbps !!

Hi, Chris. The DCRP can be pretty slow at times - I find myself staring a gray screen quite a bit (it is 18% gray, isn't it? :)). But the slowness isn't consistent - if I click on one of Jeff's reviews, it says "60 items remaining" and then whizzes through them in seconds, but if I click on a multi-image thread in the forums, it tends to slowly paint them in a few lines at a time.
