underwater photography- which camera to buy?

I'm in the process of purchasing a new camera for underwater photography, am really struggling to find info as to which digitals would be good for this? Not ready yet to consider a SLR.

Looking at shooting fish, sharks, wrecks... down to about 45 mt.

Currently own a Canon S3IS... do I just purchase a housing for this, or another camera and housing??
Any help would be appreciated

Not really sure what your looking for, more of S3 style body or a compact style.
