I am researching my new DSLR purchase and I want to know how I can combine macro capabilities into my limited budget. I do mostly wildlife and outdoors picture, so I don’t see the need of buying a entirely new macro lens. Currently I plan on purchasing the 2 lenses: Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 EX DC Macro and Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II . The sigma has a macro function, but I’m debating if it will give me good results or should I be buying a macro kit for my canon?

Here are a few links that you might find helpful. The first one may be the most relevant to your question. If you have any questions after that, don't be afraid to ask. I also **highly** recommend a book titled 'Closeups in Nature' by John Shaw.
