Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate?
I like canon.
Are there particular models you already have in mind?
canon a630.

I've read several reviews about the a630 and i like what i've read so far. i've also spend the last two days researching for hours about different cameras. my sister has a canon a620 and loves it. But I was wondering if there is anything smaller that will give the same results. I'm an amateur photographer who want to start exploring photography more. I'd like a good macro mode and SD cards usage.

I've been using a Kodak CX7430 and I want a better camera that is more consistent and takes better shots.

The Canon A570 is smaller and newer, with IS, face detection, and the newer Digic chip. It only uses 2 AA batteries, so it's smaller and lighter. I think the 630 probably has better overall image quality since it has a bigger sensor, but I'm not sure it would be that noticeable with the shooting you are planning to do.
