It's a tough choice, I like both versions. I think the color one just edges out the B&W on this one. Take a look at running a hue/sat layer and dropping the sat on the master channel by 25-40 or so and see what you think?

Only nitpicking, but cropped a little too close on the left & bottom for me. I don't like the way part of her knee is cut off and then part of her foot. As always, just my .02!

it's funny you say that because i actually did that originally and changed my mind because i seem to always edit them that way.. here it is, lemme know if y'all like this one better.

and i don't know why it changes so much when i look at it through firefox, for instance her skin is really orangish. my monitor is calibrated frequently. i understand firefox isn't color managed but i would think my monitor being calibrated would still display it correctly.

:D That works for me. I'll rarely run any desat, but thought it worked for this image.

Although both are great, I like the color one better, and the one in the original post at that. I think the color one is greatly helped by what she's wearing. Granted she's not wearing much, but the colors on it go a long way, for me. The black and white takes away from it completely.

i can;t make up my mind. i think its quite unreasonable to only post 1 pic. can you post a few...wait...ALOT more so i can make a more complete assessment.

thank you. :D

rooz i'm not sure if i'm even allowed to post the pics i got..but that's not gonna stop me! i'll have a bunch up in a few days. it will be an official thread.

don't worry, i won't tell anyone. it'll be between me, you and the 1,343,985 views the thread will get. ;)

btw: the colour one is far nicer. if the bra was only black then i understand the B&W but the pink is offset by her skin so well, you want to retain that colour imo.

All are good. The light, I'm assuming window light and the pose makes this a great shot. Only nit pick is the knee as mentioned already.
I love this photo.

Help you pick..."girl in undies"? That's easy...pick the girl in undies! :D

Oh...you mean pick the image? Now I get it...the (original) color works best, IMO.

I think B&W is better.
Where are the rest of the shots??????????? :)

think you'll get a million different perspectives on this one. Personally i like the desaturated color version best. With the window lighting and the faded, washed out colors, it makes it feel like a dream- and sure'ly a girl in undies like that sitting nearby is a dream come true.

That's just my opinion of course.

B&W is my choice

I like the original colour version and I like the close crop. Zooming out would be too obvious and I think it would make the shot too sterile.

You're producing some seriously great stuff, it's an inspiration! :)

At first I liked the B&W better because I didn't like the harshness of the pink in the colour shot. But now I like your desat colour one the best. Also I think the crop works very well. Well done, nice shot and I'm not just saying that because it's a girl in her "undies." :D

i think the color shot is best... the pink doesnt really stand out in the B&W... if it were lighter perhaps it would make for a better look...

i really dont get whats wrong with not getting her whole knee/foot... i dont find it distracting at all...

hey thanks alot guys. it actually wasn't window lighting. i set up my large softbox to mimic light coming in from a window. i'm glad it came out the way it was intended. i was wondering if you guys would think it was a real window light or not.

I like the original color the best. I also like the crop. It's like you are spying on her, and you can't quite see all of her from the angle you are at.

Try sepia and slightly softening the image.

First of all, I really like the tight crop and the composition. Both versions are excellent. I like the color version better, but the balck & white had much more shadow detail that isn't in the color: her eyelashes, breast, left hand, ankle, etc. If you coud bring those up in the color version, that'd be better.

On the other hand, since this image has a voyeuristic feel to it, a very grainy B&W version would look cool. I don't like digital noise, but I'm a big fan of film grain. So--that's your assignment. No late work accepted.;)

I know I'm outnumbered for choosing B&W but it's for the reason AdamW described so well here:

....and what's wrong with hot pink ?

(damn....as soon as I typed that, my eye started twitchin')

As I said, I like the sepia effect!
