I went on a wakeboarding trip with some friends a few weeks ago and thought I'd share a few of the pics. I was trying out my new Nikkor 70-300 VR lens (on a D50). I'm still new to this whole photography thing, but I'm slowly learning :). The VR came in VERY handy since the boat was VERY bouncy on the water.

The lens seems to get great colors under good lighting. Once it started getting darker the colors were significantly less saturated. I'm still learning, so I'm sure with some camera adjustments I could probably do better (or with a little more post-processing).

And sorry about the large images. If you would like to see more, they are posted here: http://ww2.cs.fsu.edu/~donate/wakeboard/

Wow, you have some amazing captures! Not to mention that it looks like your friends are great wakeboarders and you have a lot of fun :D The 2nd to last one is my favorite. Great combination of subject and technique. Is it cropped?

Very nice captures...My favorites are 3rd, 6th, 8th and the 9th pic.

This series clearly proves that provided decent lighting, these $500 lenses can also provide excellent colour, sharpness and contrast!

toriaj,
I cropped that one a little bit to center the subject, but very little. I told him to do something silly so I could capture it, so he decided to jump off the board in the middle of a jump :).

Thanks all for the compliments, we definitely had a blast!
