I was searching for a bag to have my gear when I am travelling, and I found 2 interesting models the Slingshot from Lowepro and the Velocity from Tamrac.
Does anyone have any of them? Would the 200A/W or the 8x accomodate a 30D + 24-70 f/2.8 + or 70-200 f/4 or a 70-300 IS USM (not the DO version)?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

What kind of travelling will you be doing? I just did tons of research including trying on loads of bags with my gear. The slingshot should handle your gear nicely and was one of the more comfortable bags. In fact I would have purchased it except for the fact that my next trip will be a backpacking trip therefore I need my back free, so I went for the lowepro orion belt bag. That's why I'm asking what kind of travelling you are doing.

I have the Slingshot 200, and I like it alot. It fits all my gear with room to spare.
The SS-200 will hold the camera with the 70-300 mounted.... but I don't think the 70-200 F4 will fit.
I would want to go to a shop and try that out first just to be sure.....

It won't be a backpacking, so sling is the best ;).
Unfortunatelly the try befor by is hard here, I live in Portugal and it's hard to find some products here, so what I do is order them by internet from Germany (much more developed market and cheaper prices). I know that's a bit risky, and that's why I'm asking here these "stupid" questions...

Definitely not a stupid question. That's why this forum is here. Yours is a perfectly good question. I think you should go for the slingshot. It was very comfortable. First it straps over one shoulder which I usually don't like very much, but then you connect another strap from around the back which holds the bag in a really nice, comfortable spot. When you want your gear, just swing the bag around and it opens right in front of you so you don't have to take the bag off. It's really convenient too.

I have the Slingshot 200 and have traveled throughout Europe with it. I've recently become a Domke convert though. My first bag was a F-1x (a much bigger bag for carrying more of my kit).
Today I'd purchase a Domke F-3x instead of the Slingshot 200. It's the ultimate shoulder bag for its size and can be worn as a backpack with the optional straps.

My orion is just too small for everyday use. Great for my trip but not everyday. I'm going to buy a new bag upon my return and you're slowly swaying to the dark side. I might just look into the Domke option. (although I'm not sure why that's the dark side. Just sounded cool I guess):p
Have you looked at fnac? That's a French chain and I've visited their store in Brussels.

I've been there, also to a Spanish chain called El Corte Inglés, both have somethings, but when it comes to specific kind of gears is pretty hard to find :(.
Anyway, I have one friend whose brother lives in NYC and is going to have his vacation around here, and my friend asked his brother to bring him somethings and of them is the 200 A/W. I will see if I like the bag, and if everything I want to carry go there. If I have the chance until the 1st week of august to see the other options you guys suggested I can compare, otherwise I will go for the lowepro.
Many thanks
