Brilliant...definitely a dramatic, compelling image.

Isn't it great when new gear injects fuel into the creative process? Well done.

So, are you now prepping for your "self-portrait" show at the local gallery? :p:D:p

Very artsy. Not in a pretentious way either. The tungsten looks non-existent (which is a good thing). A shot that would really do well in a lot of different contexts. Put a big knife in your right hand and you have the perfect photo to post with your personals ad.

On a somewhat related note, there's no wireless solution for off camera flash on the xt is there?

The best solution is a 580EX on the shoe or a Canon on shoe trigger ST-2 ( I think that the model), I hav an old thyristor flash that I want to try and get going with an optical slave, some optical slaves ignore the preflash from the Canon E-TTL and only trigger with the main flash, but what ever flash you use in this situation will have to be set up manually

are you blowing me a kiss forno? haha. i love seeing self portraits from people on here. it's good to see what you people look like. although i've seen this mug before. i've been meaning to say this before, but you look like the actor jeremy piven...image attached.

as for the shot. it's definitely a cool pose and look. the lighting really suits men and i think you'll have a hard time topping this self portrait.
