hello, I have been using my Canon G3 for many years now and have quite a few shots that I've decided to "blow-up" but am limited due to only having 4mp. I want a new ultra compact that if I take a great shot I can still enlarge (21x28).

I need your advice; I've been reading reviews and printing enlargements is not only about MP, correct?

Budget
300-400$

Size
ultracompact. Thinking about forking out for the Canon s5, but really just want a pocket cam that i can take anywhere.

Features
~7-10mp

standard zoom is fine; bells and whistles would be nice.

***image quality is the most important feature.

would absolutely love manual controls...but if there are great pre-sets, well i can live with that.

IS.

General Usage

always in my pocket cam. vacations, walk to school, weddings, etc. i'm tired of carrying around my G3

***Big prints is why i posted on here***

some low light shots, mainly outdoor, B&W.

no action photos.

Miscellaneous

I'm thinking about the canon series, but i see that they have no manual settings....which is fine if the photo quality allows me to enlarge. The sony N2 got a good review. but please let me know what you guys/gals think.

thank you for your time in reading this, I really appreciate it -n

The Canon A710IS has excellent picture quality, a nice smallish size, uses 2 AA batteries, has image stabilization, manual controls, 6X zoom, and 7 megapixels.

Drawbacks: no tilt/swivel LCD, wide end of lens isn't very wide (36mm?).
