G3 Problem

My good ol G3 is taking pictures fine but ... nothing on the back works. The menu, display, function, set, trash buttons or the selector ... nothing. The LCD works fine. I also had a problem clearing the pics on the CF but I bought a new one and it seems to work fine. Downloading pictures is not a problem. I do know that I need a new internal battery, if this feedback is positive, I will take care of that. Is it time to retire it? I hate to because it has been an excellent camera and I have quite recently learned most of the functions. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
