Looking for some advice for a protective camera cover/bag for my Canon Powershot 800 IS. I am looking for something akin to a PDA case, i.e. something that will protect the LCD viewfinder/camera but will preserve the small size factor that is the reason I went with a sub-compact in the first place.

I would also be interested in any advice for a regular camera bag for when I am going out specifically to take pictures.

I posted in this thread because I am looking for something designed for the 800 IS form and not some universal case that you can stuff everything into but that fits them all poorly.

Thanks,

Seann :)

For that camera I would honestly go into a place like best buy and look at their cases. The small universal cases are great for the smaller cameras. They can clip on you belt or put into a bag with no issues. What other items might you bring with the camera? Most of the universal cases have a spot for a extra memory card and batteries.

This may make me sound like a sissy, but I had my mom make me one. I still live within driving distance of her, and sewing has always been her hobby, so she had no trouble making a nice sueded, perfectly fitting case that only added a few millimeters of bulk.
