Hello, I am a new mom to twin girls!! They are now 10 months! When they were a couple weeks old I bought a Sony cybershot DSC-W50, what a mistake...I already had to send it back once to get repaired for the flash not working properly. Also, I take TON, I mean TON of pictures and A LOT of them come out blurry, my girls are always on the go so I need a camera that is fast. I am really just looking for a camera that I can take REALLY nice pics of my girls. I want it to be compact and am willing to spend up to $400. I have been looking a these 4 cameras:

Canon PowerShot A710 IS
Fujifilm FinePix F31fd
Canon PowerShot A630
Canon PowerShot SD800 IS Digital ELPH

But am really clueless. I feel I got burned on my last purchase :( Can anybody offer me some help? Oh, I do want to mention, I like how the Canons have the color accent, that is so neat! Again I appreciate any help you may have! Thanks for your time!

The Fuji will allow you to take photos in low light without a long shutter speed. That is what is causing blur in your Sony photos. If that is indeed the major problem you are seeing the Fuji is the right camera for you.

There will still be shutter lag on all of these cameras. Shutter lag is the time between when you push the shutter button and the picture is taken. The camera is busy focusing and setting up the ISO, f-stop, and shutter speed during that lag. To lessen that, pre-focus the camera by holding the shutter button down halfway so the camera will focus on your kids. Then, when they have the absolute cutest expressions on their faces, push the button down the rest of the way and the shot will be almost instantaneous.

CongratulatiOns on twin girls! Our twin girls are turning 4 this month.

We use both a Canon A570 IS ( the 710 is similar) and a Fuji S6000fd.

I originally but the Fuji for myself, but my wife has started using it a lot indoors, because it does better indoors (low light) than the Canon. The S6000 also has less redeye due to the location of the flash on relation to the lens.

The Fuji have a "Chrome" (referring to slide film) setting that increases the saturation similar to the Vivid setting on the Canons

Hope this helps.
