Fireworks (http://pictures.divergentservices.com/fireworks/)

F11 shutters in 2>8 second range ISO 100 for everything. Shot mostly with new 10-20 because I didn't know how close/far they would be and figured perfect time to go try it out since F11 pretty much nearly equalizes all lenses.

looks damn good tim.

i'll be going tonight to shoot some fireworks..but with the lack of decent tripod i'll be shooting around 1/60s..maybe 1/30s if i try the 70-200 IS.

i can't wait.

Can't say for sure, but I think you'll be a little disappointed shooting like that... at least if it's the fireworks you're after. :-)

If you could find something to prop it onto that could work too. Doesn't need to be a "tripod" per say just something angeled and stable, boxes that let you angel the camera and just press the shutter in timer mode when you hear the bang 2 sec timer 2>4 sec exposure IS off.

Ahh, thought maybe you drove up to Toledo. There use to be quite a show put on at Prominade Park on the Maumee River. It has been at least 15 yrs since I've caught them down there. Actually, not even sure if they still do it.

At any rate...at least you found some (and got some awesome shots) in your new surroundings!

I don't quite know if thats where I was at, the toledo one I didn't go to because I was out on this one for 4 hours (arrived way too early) and got bitten up by the locals so wasn't up to going out and fighting with the real locals in toledo.
