before any of the experienced members reply....I'd like to point out....
$1000ish for the body+kit lens or just body.....
Size: SLR size agreed, but do you want a heavy SLR or a light one cause in todays world the weight of an SLR can vary

&....You have said that you wont be printing big nor taking low light pics, then why a DSLR, you could get a high end P&S

faisal does raise a good point...why do you think you need a dslr ? the fuji is a very competant camera with excellent range.

if you do go dslr sounds like you're pretty much decided on the camera body, i would skip the kit lens and get the sigma 18-50mm f2.8 EX DC Macro. its nice and sharp, gives you the wide-ish angle you need for landscapes and the fast aperture you may need for sports.

wildlife is a different story, you will need longer reach. you can either save some cach and buy the Canon 70-300IS or pick up the sigma 70-300mm DG APO Macro which is a very popular lens amongst many users here and is cheaper but obviously not as good as the canon version.

I really dont mind what size. I would like an DSLR because i want the flexibility of having different lenses and i like extreamly clear pictures

The biggest reason i want a DSLR is probably because two of my sisters are getting married at beginning on next year a month apart so i would like more quality pictures there... so i was thinking maybe get two Lenses?

Is there another cheaper Wide angle ish lens? that one is a bit over what i m looking for... i can probably only afford one lens at first but i believe my father may also get an XTI or 30D so we can then share the lenses... but what would you suggest for a 350 Wide angle lens? Thanks!

Do u people think it is worth it for me to save up a little more and wait for the D40 to come out and buy the D30? with a lens or 2? or should i get the XTi with a wide angle? Any opinions out there? I was read around on the forums and some of you think that the 40D will be released in the fall? Then the prices of the 30D should go down?is the 30D that big of an upgrade over the XTI? i agree though the XTi feels a little small in my hands.... If i were to get the 30d i could probably still only send 1000 ish.. Right now the D20 is selling for 800ish so that would leave 200 or 300 for the lens what do you people think? thanks!!
