Op/tech strap, which connector for D80?

Sorry if this is a dumb question. It seems like the Op/tech strap is recommended by many people here.

What connector do I want for my D80? The traditional connector looks like the same system that the bundled Nikon strap uses.

Is the "pro loop" only for connection points like on the D200, or can/should I use it for the D80 as well?

What about other brands of straps with the ring connector? Avoid on the D80?

I would have thought they were the same. IIRC, the D70 and D200 had the same sort of connectors, so I don't know why they would change them on the D200.

I'm pretty much strapless these days. I use a sling bag, but mostly just carry the camera in my hand. I have an OpTech strap, and they are nice, but since I started carrying the camera without the strap so often, I got tired of the pigtails, so I keep the strap in my main bag. If I'm going to do an all day with just the camera and the 18-200 (or other lens), then I'd put the strap on.

My strap is an older model and doesn't have the pro loop. I haven't actually seen one in use, so I don't know if I like the idea or not. I suspect I would find it as annoying as the pigtails, but my annoyance is not your problem.

The D70 and D80 have the same type of strap receiver - it looks like a slot.

The D200 has one which looks like it accepts a small keyring.
