more rappers....go figure..i guess i'm getting typecast. i'm like the dell dude now.
anyway, had a good time shooting these, got to get creative with the lighting and actually got paid to do it. only $200 for this job, but better than sitting at home manhandling myself.
anyway, lemme know what y'all think. i'll try and get more up as they're edited. btw these weren't anything special, just the first few i came across that i liked. i'm going to bed now.

I like #1 best. Great lighting--very understated and it suits the subject. The background is interesting, but not too distracting. Thumbs up!

$200, IMO your work is worth way more than that, unless it was like 45 minutes worth:D

Awesome job at making an ugly guy with bad skin seem like he might actually do something professional for a living.

thanks alot forno. unfortunately the 2 hour job ended up lasting 4. i had to wait two hours for the guys to show up. it was shot at the white rapper's house. they insisted on shooting with the ugly, wrinkled, white backdrop(which is fine because it makes it easy to cut them out) although i would rather have just shot them around the house and played with the lights. the 2nd and third i decided to use the wall as the background.
BUT at the same time i wouldn't have had the weird background for the first shot. while i was waiting on them and bored, i put my lens on manual focus, focussed it as close as i could(put it on macro), and zoomed in all the way to 70mm, then f/2.8 and started shooting his chandelier. it also let me know i NEEDED to clean my sensor bigtime. if any of you don't have a rocket air blower, you should really get one, they don't get everything, but they will definitely get most of it.

Great work again Adam. I don't think I ever posted in your last thread, but I was so impressed by the shots you posted last time, I went and watched the video on youtube...ok, ok...It was women I was impressed with, I admit it. But, your shots were good too :D
Hell, that song they played in the video was pretty cool, too. I went to go download it from itunes but couldn't find it. Had to pimp it off their myspace page.
I'm curious how you PP'd these to get the look you did...if you haven't posted it before, are you willing to share?

thank you very much for the compliments. i really appreciate it guys. any c&c is still more than welcome though.
there's a few things i'll do to the pictures. one is drop saturation a bit and up my contrast. sometimes i'll crank up my shadows real high then bring them back down with levels to give it an animated type look. and then there's the whole skin smoothing process...which i didn't do on these.

Reminds me of the old Rodney Dangerfield line.... "My mother caught me Manhandling myself. I told her not to worry I was just trying to jumpstart the vibrator" :p

I preferred George's mother (from Seinfeld)
Caught him treating his body like an amusement park :D

The only comment I have is regarding the timber unit behind him, coujld have been a good background but I find it a bit distracting with just a bit of it rather than seeing more of it

Would that be the Tunnel Of Love, or the Bearded Lady?

Great pictures, and I always admire your editing... but I think the subject is one of those who would be better off with their mouths open or another generally unusable pose than looking like he's trying to make out with everyone looking at the picture.

Another good one. What's with the pattern of lights behind him?

while i was waiting for them to get ready i just started walking around taking pictures of lights out of focus. i didn't expect to use it as a background, but i really liked it. plus the big one actually looks like it's the kicker you see on the side of his head and shoulder. so it worked out.
