View Full Version : Few of my shots...

Taken with two different cameras; the first and second with a 2.0 megapixel compact, the third with a 4.1 megapixel compact. All edited in photoshop. The post-processing was specifically tailored to suit the tastes of a different forum I use, and hence may not appeal to you, I'm not sure. Still, good to post some pictures up. :)
I'm looking forward to upgrading my camera to an FZ50 soon, so I can get some more detailed shots than just point-and-shoot. Particularly having some control over focus, and the large zoom range it offers. :)

Just shows what a few megapixels can do - nice shots I like them a lot. Welcome to the forum Paradox it's a pretty friendly place.

Neat shots Paradox:). Very nice. I especially like the black and white. I might have liked the third in black and white version as well, but it's anyway a lovely photo. I noticed 'Tranqility' in the first picture. Is that the title? Would be apt. Welcome to the forum and as Phill said, this is a friendly place. Have a great time.

Thanks all for the comments and welcomes. :) And yep the text 'Tranquillity' in the first is a title, as is 'Perspective' written in the tracks on the second. None on the third.

Cleverly beautiful putting those titles in the pictures. I hadn't noticed the 2nd.:)

I like the selective colouring in the 3rd shot.

I've got about 20 images lined up for post-processing at the moment. But I have exams for the next few days (Great fun... ), so I'll try and get them up over the course of the week.

Thanks. :) Ah well, at least they're not overly important. And I can get through exams.
I got round to one, because it didn't need much in the way of Post-Processing - I just had a bit of a play with the brightness and contrast as the colouration was a bit off. Still, here it is. It was a shot taken with my trusty little 2.0 megapixel compact off the back of a cruise ship leaving England. Only proper holiday I've ever been on. :) I loved the wave effects that the wind was causing.

Thanks. :) You lot are so much more lenient than the people on my art forum...that latest pic is currently being ripped apart. :p But I did take it over a year ago, and it was basicly a lucky holiday snapshot. Now I would do a bit more setting up, rather than just standing and clicking. Ah well, can't turn back the clock.
Edit: Ahh, nailed the tongue smiley at last...no capital p.
I know what you mean its the same way on my graphics design forums. They dont care to look at things for what they are. If it doesnt fit their exact taste and style they bash the hell out of it even if its good just because its not their style. :(

I don't think 'lenient' is what we are here.....the word assumes you need permission for stating your vision......which as long as something doesn't offend sensibilities, sucks. If not overly enthusiastic,we are definitely more accepting of people's visions as art and recognize effort. As long as it is honest art ;).
And the last one is really beautiful! I love the ripples too, especially how their southern ends come and almost join the curves on the top of the yacht. Very nice.
Best Regards
