I ordered a cannon TX1 from wallstreet photo and in the box instead of a component TV cable i got this. the small end (not shown) fits into the camera perfectly, but this end.....? what type of connector is this and what does it plug into?

That's odd...I'm a computer geek and I've never seen that. Looks like a DVI and HDMI cable got together and had a hybrid child...
Not sure on this one...what does the booklet say (if any)?

i think it might be some weird asian connector, the box looks as if it was made for asia with mainly asian style writting, but i have no idea, unless they are jerking me around at wall street photo
Doing some research, I discovered that the standard TX1 kit comes with a Stereo cable, a Component cable, and an Interface cable with the part number "IFC-400CPU". By the process of elimination, you're probably looking at the Interface cable. Looking up that part number, I get a bunch of foreign websites. This leads me to believe you've received a foreign cable, and therefore it's useless to you. I'd go back and ask for a USB/Firewire connector, haha.

Who or what is wall street photo? Sounds like you bought a gray market camera... It come with accessories or did you buy a "premium" wide angel adapter for 179.99 with it?
