I'm pretty certain we all have specific corners, desks, tables, shelves and the like where we like to stow our toys and do our "work". Whether it's where we have heaps of books, a computer, unruly piles of CDs full of spectacularly failed attempts at masterpiece photos, rows of empty beer bottles (Rooz?;)), disassembled lenses, scattered macro subjects, whatever happens to be there (aside from anything incriminating that is!), there are some very interesting photos to be had from our workspaces. Here's one of mine:

f/4.8, 1/3 sec., ISO 200, compensation -1 step @ 38mm, minor sharpening & l/c adjustment in Picasa
How about it? Anyone else got some interesting shots of the clutter that accumulates around them?
lol very interesting thread. sorry to disappoint but my office and my cam/ lens storage/ workspace area is clean as a whistle. bright lights, dustfree desk and no clutter. i'm pretty organised with my gear cos thats where i clean lens', sensors and the like. the only thing thats clutter is DVD/ CD discs all over for storage and small lots of portrait proofs etc.
the table on the back deck...well there's another story. :D

Aw, c'mon Rooz, you've got a D80 - you can do an image overlay of your workspace + the back deck, cant'cha?:p

Yep, kit lens and all. That's at 1/3 second shutter, too, and semi-handheld (I went with the old trick of propping it on a book spine).
Now that I look at it, I do wish for a shallower depth-of-field. But that's getting a little too close to macro range for using 18mm and f/3.5, would have had to be a lot closer.

Fab shot. I'm very impressed with the sharpness. Would you say there was a lot of light? Would love to show something but don't have a workspace..:)....maybe one of these days when I bake a cake I'll show you my wares.....;)..... Interesting thread. Should turn up a lot of office desk shots..
Best Regards

lol tori....I confess I did clean up a bit:). Would love to see yours.
Best Regards
My workspace/desk is usually pretty clean. Over all, the only thing that really changes is whether there is one, two, or zero cats either laying or sitting on my desk--at times, one on each side of my notebook. It's just a good thing I have a large size desk, a notebook, and a flat screen. Then again, the cats just tend to take up more room since I got rid of the dual CRT monitor setup.

TNB, I would love to see your cats lounging on your workspace ....:). So do post a shot.
Best Regards
I snapped this photo a few minutes ago. I was too slow to get the camera when both cats were on the desk--the second started chasing the first and then I had to wait for the first one to show back up. As long as they stay on separate sides of the monitor, it is usually ok.
I will post some pics of my work soon.;)

Nice shots TNB and T06....must say very clean desks. Lol.....sometimes mine clutters up so much I am forced to find another cat-corner. I took mine on a clean up day:).
Kev....wow! Neat place! Not to miss....the glass of wine.......sure it's going to be fun working here.
TNB, that's a darling cat. I'd have loved to see both furballs. It's sweet you give them each a spot. They must be very happy with you :). Don't they stomp all over your keyboard? And that's some monitor!
Best Regards

Give them a spot? They just take over. ;) They also don't really "stomp" on the keyboard, but... I should also have an older photo with both of them on my desk or should have before I moved--I used to have another TV on my desk (where the printer is now) as well then and Bennie used to chase the cursor when I used the flat screen as a monitor.

I had to post a quick one of my workspace because I usually have a cat or two hanging around in mine too. Gives it more of a comfortable feeling if you ask me:D

I cleaned mine yesterday, so nothing really to photograph. Unless you want a picture of a vast open plain, or a desk lamp.
I wouldnt dare show my desk in it usual hecticness. :p

TNB, beautiful!:)
Thanks. Tonight, I set up the tripod and waited to catch them both on the desk... The hairy kids "working" away. ;)

Looks like they're playing with a "mouse!" :p Sorry, couldn't resist.
That's ok since they do play with the mouse. ;) They have already switched positions--now Tigger is where Bennie was and vice-a-versa. However, I doubt if I could get the photo since Bennie has his tail drapped over my arm--perhaps, I should get a remote. Anyway, that is the norm around my notebook for the most part--especially around feeding time since they double tag team me.

I hear you. One of my cats is stretched out across my desk at the moment, but she likes to lie behind the monitor to get the breeze from the window.

Aww that's so sweet TNB!! Yeah they do look like they are playing with the 'mouse'.:) Do they listen to you when you tell them to sit quiet and let you work? If they do, I'll get a cat and send my kitten to her grannies...lol...:D

zmikers, your girlfriend must consider herself blessed for this apart from other reasons..:)

The Siamese mix usually listens, but the Bengal is rather stubborn. However, if I have papers on the desk, then I usually have to tell the Siamese to get down a couple of times since he usually attempts to lay on the papers so I can't read them (but at least they don't eat the papers). ;)
