Hi there everyone.. I'm new one here.

So I came here cause I felt in love in s6500 [Europe region ;)] but I still don't know if it's a good choice or no.

I live in .. Poland ;s maybe it's not a great country but we have a lot of places and things to shoot, especially in my city :)

I have something like $400 to spend

I know that I want a hybrid.. questions is which one:

Fuji/ Sony/ Panasonic/ Nikon ?

I heard a lot about Sony's Hx's // Panasaonic's FZ's // and Nikon D's like Fuji S's ;)

I'm looking for a DC what is:
1- quite big but not gigantic :P ^^
2- is great for sport pictures or move fast object to catch them on the pic
3- have a nice and clear macro
4- great for portraits
5- wonderful for landscapes
6- good for night photos || I've got a tripod ||
7- is good for photoamator like for a semi pro photograph ;s [means a lot of options, tweaks etc. also RAW format
8- IS is not required, I heard a lot about it, also I like idea about it but I don't think so that I'm ever gonna even use it
9- I can place new rings for it same as filters
10- it is possible to plug in a outside flash to it [but it's not necessary if it have own good flash]
11- it can keep a lot of details with natural colors

maybe it's not so many information but I'm looking for something like that :)

I'm sorry for another thread like that // believe me I read a lot of infos even watched photos but I'm still in dead point T.T so.. give me an advice :)

PS: sorry for my english -.-''

Hi Mikael! Your English is fine - at least I can understand you, better than my Polish!:D

I think the Fuji S6500 would be good for what you want. It has probably the best low noise at high ISO sensitivity performance of any ultrazoom bridge camera, making it possible to use fast shutter speeds to freeze moving subjects, even in poor light. This is better than Image Stabilisation, which really only helps with static subjects.

Macro is pretty good, focussing down to 1cm, giving 36mm x 27mm coverage. Portraits should be OK, but you might need to move back and use a fair bit of zoom to get limited Depth of Field.

The 28mm equivalent focal length at the wide angle end of the zoom is good for landscapes. I take a lot of landscapes with my Fuji S9500, which has the same lens (with standard 58mm filter thread - no messing about with adaptors). The manual zoom ring on the lens is great!

The high ISO should be helpful for night shots, and with a tripod, lack of IS isn't a problem. There are a lot of manual control options, although unlike the S9600 and Panasonic FZ50, there's no control wheel, so it needs more fiddly menu access. Many functions do have dedicated buttons though. It has RAW.

One thing it doesn't have is any way of connecting an external flash, unlike the S9600 or FZ50, which have a hotshoe, though the S6500's builtin flash is fairly good.

There are many example shots from the S6500 over on the Fuji forum.

As to the other cameras you mention, The Sony H series don't have as good ISO performance (well, nothing short of a DSLR does, really :D ) and are more fiddly for the semi-pro features - need adaptors for filters, fiddly controls etc. The Panasonic FZ series have problems with noise, or excessive noise reduction, at high ISO. The Image Stabilisation can help with static subjects (John Reed has posted some great bird shots taken with an FZ30 though), but they don't zoom out to as wide angle.

I'm slightly confused by your mention of Nikon D - do you mean the Nikon DSLRs like the D40, D50 etc.? If so, I don't think you'd get one with a decent lens within your budget. The old 8400 / 8700 / 8800 were rather slow in their response.

I think if you get the S6500, you won't be too dissapointed.

Everyday I'm watching photos from "Paul club" of 6500fd and it makes an awesome pictures Oo of course in a hand of good person ^^''

So once more, thanks Alex! you make my day :) in a positive way of this words ^^''

Cheers! :)

oh ps: yes I meant Nikon D series like Nikon D40 D50 etc. :) in Poland D40 cost something like $590 :P in compare of 6500fd what it cost $420 ;s I hate that country a lot :P wish to live in USA or UK :D that be a lot greater ;) I hope so ;)

Best Regards from beauty but expensive :P Poland

I simply use a slave flash along with my S-6000's built-in flash and it works very well.
