I see some 1gig memory for $70 and other 1gig memory for $30!! Why is some memory TWICE the price of others??? I'm going on a three week trip (probably 30 shots a day). I have a Canon PowerShot SD750, but more importantly, would I be fine with $30 memory??

$30 memory is fine. The reason why there's $30 memory and $70 memory is the speed and quality of the memory chips. The $70 memory comes with faster memorychips while the $30 memory comes with various memory chips that have average speed.
Which two memory cards are you talking about ?

 WTF? Where are you going to be buying a 1GB SD for $30?
1GB SD cards go for around $10 today. I would suggest a at least a 2GB card. And you don't need a fast speed card for your camera.
Shop around. Just an example ... http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010070068+1053107930+1053307940&Subcategory=68&description=&Ntk=&srchInDesc=
If you're already willing to spend $30, then go for a 4GB card ;) A friend of mine that bought the SD750 got a 4GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010070068+1053107930+1053313500&Subcategory=68&description=&Ntk=&srchInDesc=
