Some great shots in there Christian.

Can you share some details about which of your files get posted. Do you hand over your digital files and they select and crop as they see fit or do you have the responsibility to determine what you select for submission? Do they publish everything you ultimately submit or is there a review process?

Here's a typical game's process:
1) At half-time the agency requires around six or so images uploaded to their live ftp site (aflphotos.com.au). These images need to be cropped, colour balanced, and captioned (event and player details written to metadata) prior to sending.
2) At full-time the agency requires another thirty or so images as above. These go live for view/purchase by their clients so I control what goes up (although an agency editor may wish to modify if something isn't suitable to him/her).
3) By 10:00 AM the following morning the agency requires the above "original" (ie; un-corrected, uncropped, but captioned) images uploaded to a separate ftp site, as well as up to eighty additional images and any other "commissioned" images taken.

I have full editorial control of what gets sent, but I will often get special requests before a game for different shots (say a particular player whom they wish to do an editorial piece on, or crowd shots etc), which can be difficult if that certain player doesn't have much influence in the game.

Of the other 1,000 or so images I capture, they for the moment are just sitting on my hard-drive waiting to be deleted or archived, when I get around to it. The agency is happy if I have given them their requested allocation - anything else can be discarded.

Biggest thrill: shooting national league sport (arguably this country's most popular) - I feel very lucky and privileged to have the opportunity, it's great fun.
Biggest challenge: captioning and the deadline (particularly half-time). Captioning can take time as I don't know all the players yet, and the clock is ticking away at that deadline.

I was thinking everynow & then it would be nice to see you post what you have & also one single shot & why you think it is one of the better ones that you like. I've watched the "cameraguys" running up & down the field to earn their craft, my hats off to you guys.;)
Image ID:7970 made me think, wow, a very fit sportsman on a mission.

Nice shots Christian.
Are you one of those photographers on the sideline who got trampled by the players time to time? :D
Any Rugby League shots? State of Origins?

Not yet but surely can't be too far away. Haven't done any Rugny League yet unfortunately.

Here's some more from the Swans/Bombers clash:
