Hi there,

Hoping all can give me some advice. I am looking to buy a new digital camera and have decided upon getting a Canon. I am currently using a 2.8 megapixel Sony Cypershot. I would like to get everyone's opinion on which model is a better buy: the powershot SD300 or the powershot S500? I know the S500 is 5.0 megapixels vs. the 4.0 on the SD300, but the SD300 has a larger viewfinder at 2.0 inches. IS there really much of a difference in terms of megapixels? I am going to be using this camera on my travels, so ideally I would like a smaller camera - though there isn't that big of a difference between the two. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I have SD300, excelent camera, imges are very sharp stright from the camera, the 4 or 5 megapixel isn't that large of a diferance either will allow for some croping for an 8x10 print. One thing about the SD300 is it's very fast, starts fast, functions fast, and reviews fast, great camera for your pocket, it's my pocket cam when I don't want to take the 20D

I went for the SD300. It's got a faster processor and more recent technology. It's also a bit smaller and more pocketable. Picture quality is very good and shutter lag is imperceptible.
