I Plan to project digital pictures in slide shows. Considering the resolution of the projectors / TVs will 6 mega pixel pictures give a good show?
Would 10 mega pixel pictures provide a better display or is the picture quality limited by the resolution of the projection unit or television set?
Would high definition TVs make a difference?

A 6 megapixel image for most cameras is around 2816x2112 (actual pixels will vary, this is for Canons). That's actually cheating a little because its really 5.95mp. 2816x2112=5,947,392.

Anyway, try to match it up with the projector you will be using. If its higher than the picture size, it will of course scale it up unless there is an option to not scale the images. Otherwise you would need more than 6mp to fill a projected image with full detail and no scaling that is higher than that resolution.

Since HDTV's max out at 1080p (1920x1080 pixels) that is not a problem. That is a 2mp image size. It will be scaled down to fit the screen, no matter how big the image is.
